This qualification reflects the role of a skilled operator working in trenchless technology in the Civil Construction Industry, who applies a broad range of skills in a varied work context, using some discretion and judgement and relevant theoretical knowledge. The individual may provide theoretical advice and support a team.

Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this qualification can vary between states, territories, and industry sectors. Relevant information must be sourced prior to application of the qualification.

Course Requirements

In order to obtain this qualification, you require 26 units of which 18 are core competency units from the Civil Construction training package and 8 are elective.

Note:  4 chosen from Group A and 1 being from the Trenchless Technology list as per under as well as at least 1 from Group B as well as up to 3 from another endorsed training package or from an accredited course. Information regarding Group A and B units can be found at the following web link.

RIICTT302D – Conduct impact moling, ramming and augering

RIICTT303D – Control micro tunnelling and pipejacking

RIICTT304D – Undertake on-line replacement for existing pipeline systems

RIICTT305D – Undertake   localised repair and sealing of existing pipeline systems



RIICTT306D – Install cure in-place linings for existing pipeline systems

RIICTT307D – Spray ling for existing pipeline systems

RIICTT308D – Install close fit linings for existing pipeline systems

RIICTT309D – Install slip lining in existing pipeline systems

RIICTT310D – Renovate large diameter pipes and chambers



This training can only be undertaken through (RTO’s) Registered Training Organisations accredited to deliver these packages in Australia.
